Is massage and stretching wasting your time?

As personal trainers who work with people with injuries, we get a lot of clients who have been through countless therapists and doctors. They’ve been told that their muscles are too tight. They have to stretch more. They have to get more massages. They have to keep trying to chase away that tight sensation.

The problem, of course, is that even after being told all those things, the problems still don’t go away, so they¬†end up seeking more massage, more stretching, harder massage, more aggressive stretching.

In this video, Josh and I discuss what we think it means when you’re stuck in this cycle. And we talk about what you can do when stretching and massage/tissue work just aren’t getting you the results you’re hoping for.
