I came to Upright Health because my low back and left S.I. joint would not stop aching and hurting, and I was sick of it.
I’m in my 50’s, and I pride myself on being healthy and fit. I was doing regular yoga and cardio as well. Despite my best efforts, my left knee was giving me severe, sharp pains off and on and my feet would tingle and go numb within 10-20 minutes on a treadmill. I was getting regular chiropractic adjustments that were helpful, but my body would just get tweaked again and again on a regular basis no matter how many adjustments I got. On top of all this, I have had a long fight with debilitating migraines for the last 10 years.
In training with Matt at Upright Health, I learned a lot about my own body and what all these problems meant, and my body is so much happier than it was. Over the course of the first few months, I learned how to make my SI joint more stable, how to properly massage my own body to release the muscle tightness causing me so many problems in my leg, and how to properly structure my workout routines so I wasn’t hurting myself by overdoing it. I also learned that the right kind of exercise actually helps prevent the start of a migraine from blowing up into a full blown episode!
After a year and a half training at Upright Health, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. I can do a full chin up, I’ve trained my S.I. joint to be stable, I know how to stretch in case my back or hip ever start to bother me, and my knee and feet no longer cause me problems. I’ve learned how to move better – and in the right amount – to keep my body fit and healthy.
